Chelsea Lunchtime Round-Up, Thursday 22nd October 2026: Alonso Braces for Change Ahead of Tottenham Clash Amid £100m Transfer Talk

Xabi Alonso is set to make at least one significant alteration to his Chelsea side ahead of the Premier League meeting with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge this weekend, as he looks to make it three wins in a row (Football.London). Despite a late injury blow in the build-up, the head coach is reported to be relaxed given his squad has had a full week to prepare for the Saturday evening clash (Football.London).

Away from matters on the pitch, Football.London reports that Chelsea's plans for a potential £100m January signing are becoming clearer, with the latest update involving Alex Scott factoring into the club's thinking ahead of the mid-season window (Football.London).
